Sunday Worship at 11.30 am

Goodmayes is one of the most ethnically diverse congregations in the Circuit. We enjoy the talents of a number of young musicians (and a few older ones) who play at the All-Age services. In the past two years extensive work has been undertaken on the premises to ensure a bright, welcoming environment which is used extensively by the community. Our membership is 78 (November 2023).

Young People

Sunday School/Junior Church

(3-16 years)

Sunday School meets at the same time as the adult service. Each month we have an All-Age service in which the young people often take an active part.

Youth Club meets on the second Sunday of each month (not August) from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm.

Old Dagenham Methodist Church

"We welcome all, by the sharing of our faith, through worship, and reaching out beyond our church walls, in love and grace, to serve the community needs."

Sunday Worship at 10.30 am

We are a welcoming multicultural church based at Rainham Road South, Dagenham, Essex, RM10 8YT.
Old Dagenham Methodist Church has been based in Dagenham since the year 1888. In 1962 due to the widening of Rainham Road South our church was replaced by the present one. During that time we have served the needs of the community by opening our doors to various local groups to hire/use our church Hall and currently our church space for their activities.

The Peace4Life Support Group offers a space where parents, families and individuals who have been affected by knife and violent crime, can meet to talk over a cup of tea/coffee and offer each other support. The Group also discusses and works on initiatives to end youth violence in the community. The Peace 4 Life” Support Group currently meets once a month at 7.30pm at Old Dagenham Methodist Church.

The Group was started in 2020, following the increasing incidence of young people losing their lives to knife crime in Barking and Dagenham. In particular, 17 year old Duran Kajiama, a young man who lived close to the church and tragically lost his life to knife crime on 12 November 2016.

Junior Church

meets at the same time as the adult service on the second and fourth Sundays of each month, and is divided into two groups, ages 3-10 and 11-18 years.

Junior Church activities

Learning about the bible through reading the bible, role play, watching DVD's craft activities
Discussions about social issues from a Christian perspective
Preparing and leading church service once a year
Social activities: theatre trips, bowling, museum visits, talks on social issues.

Barkingside Methodist Church

Sunday Worship at 9.30 am

Our doors are wide open to people from all backgrounds, regardless of where they are on their spiritual journey. Together we try to be the kind of church described in the Bible where there is relevant teaching, heart-felt worship, honest friendship, constant prayer, and compassionate care for those in need. We aim to practice the kind of uplifting Christianity that can influence and encourage the entire community. Our worshippers can choose to receive a weekly news sheet keeping them in touch with church life. Personal contact is regularly maintained by our pastoral visitors who offer a listening ear and where possible support to those who request it. Our membership is 38 (November 2023).

Worship & Fellowship

Sunday Worship

Our morning service is at 9.30 am, and is followed by refreshments. Our Sunday School/Junior Church is not active at the present time. Young people are welcome to stay in church for the main service.

Thursday Social Group

We meet on Thursday from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm for fellowship.

Weekly activities

Scout, Cubs, Beavers and Rainbow and Brownie Groups meet on our premises and there is a daily pre-school nursery, and a range of other hirers including dancing and karate classes, a local choir and other churches. For more information, please visit the relevant page on our website.

Ecumenical Links

We have strong links with a number of local churches through the North Ilford Fellowship of Churches and with other faiths via the Redbridge Faith Forum.

A warm welcome awaits you at The Drive Methodist Church. We are a diverse congregation, with many different ages, cultures and family structures represented. We will cater for any ages that worship with us and the children meet in groups appropriate for their age.

The Drive Youth (TDY)

TDY are aged 6 years to 16 and we have a older age group up to 25 that also meet. TDY plans events, contributes to services and leads services a few times in the year, sharing what is important to them.

Beacontree Heath Methodist Church

Sunday Worship at 10.00 am

We are a church with a growing congregation from different areas of the word: Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe and the UK. We welcome many young families to our regular Sunday Worship and have Junior Church for all ages at the same time as the service, so parents can enjoy the fellowship without worrying about the children! We have an active fundraising team, and open the church to events regularly throughout the year. Our membership is 62 (1st November 2023).

Junior Church

meets at the same time as the adult service every Sunday unless there is All Age Worship.

Junior Sunday School

We welcome children from 4 to 10 years to Junior Sunday School for a time to learn about the Bible and about Jesus Christ through various activities.

Senior Sunday School

We welcome young people aged 11 and up to Senior Sunday school. We strive to help young people make sense of the world through the teachings of Jesus, and learn how the lessons from Scripture can be applied to their everyday lives. Various activities take place, followed by discussions on how we can use what we have learned in the days ahead. We follow the lectionary, so the young people can discuss what they have learnt with their families after the service.

The premises are let out to a number of outside groups, including Tutors, a choir, a recovery support group and another church. Gantshill Methodist Church is made up of people. Ordinary people just like you. We are people who know the love of God in our lives and can witness to the many ways in which God has blessed us. Sunday Worship

Our Sunday Worship begins at 10am and is conducted by Ministers, Preachers and our Worship Leaders. The services are live-streamed on our Church YouTube Channel.

Children are welcome, unfortunately we do not have a Sunday School at present. However the service is relayed to the creche where parents may take their children if they wish to.

Tea and coffee are served after the service.

Open Thursday

Open Thursday is a place where anyone in our neighbourhood can come and join in for coffee/tea and chat from 12 noon to 4pm! Free WiFi is also available for visitors.

Weekly activities

15 community groups meet regularly on our site, including a Recovery Group and their Support Group. There is a close relationship between the church and these groups. For more information, please visit the relevant page on our website.

We are part of the North Ilford Fellowship of Churches, which organises united services and events in the area.
